November 19th, 2017, Sunday was an auspicious and historical day in the community of St. Benedict’s Monastery, Corte, the Cebu Foundation. It was the Sacerdotal Ordination of our Rev. Dn. Emie D. Gaviola OSB. The Ceremonies started at 9:30 am. The Sacrament was conferred by Rt. Rev. DD Jose Palma, the Archbishop of Cebu. For the celebration not only the Church was full but also all around the church the people were gathered. It was indeed a real celebration with melodious singing of the Knights of Columbus Music Ministry, Carmen and whole surroundings were filled with the aroma of the flowers used for decorating the whole church. We had more than 500 guests for the fraternal meal. The function was noted with the presence of Rev. Fr. Anto Puthenpurackal OSB, the General Councilor representing the Abbot and his council; Rev. Fr. Sosai Nathen and Rev. Fr. Shamindra Jeyewardena OSB, the Conventual Prior of Sri Lankan priory, both native from the place.
